If you’re staying at Peak 9 Inn (Liftside) and heading out for first tracks, here’s a little insider tip that can save you precious minutes on your way to the Quicksilver Lift. It’s a route quietly used by owners, staff, and frequent guests—and once you know it, you’ll never walk the long way again.
Most guests take the obvious path. You head down to the lobby, exit through the main doors, walk up the ramp, cross the plaza, pass the Maggie building, and arrive at the Quicksilver maze. It’s straightforward, easy to follow, and usually takes five minutes or less.
But when the snow is fresh and the lift lines are forming, five minutes can feel like forever.
Here’s the shortcut.
Instead of heading to the lobby, take the elevator to the first floor—the same level where you’ll find the Leisure Center, including the hot tubs, pool, and fitness center. Once you’re on that floor, walk past the Leisure Center toward the back of the building. Keep going, and you’ll spot a sliding glass door exit that leads outside.
Step through the doors, turn left, and walk alongside the fenced pool area.
That’s it.
From there, you’ll find yourself noticeably closer to the Quicksilver Lift—about two minutes closer, to be exact. And when you’re bundled up, carrying gear, and racing the rest of the mountain to untouched powder, those two minutes can make all the difference.
This little back way isn’t marked, isn’t crowded, and feels like your own private route to the slopes. It’s especially handy on busy mornings, powder days, or anytime you just want to maximize time skiing instead of walking.
So next time you’re staying at Peak 9 Inn, skip the plaza, take the elevator, and walk like a local. Your legs—and your powder turns—will thank you.
Happy skiing, and enjoy the shortcut!
