Constructed in 1965 along the Blue River, Goose Pasture Tarn serves as both a water supply reservoir and a recreational asset for the local community. The reservoir covers approximately 68 acres and sits at an elevation of nearly 9,900 feet, providing stunning reflections of the surrounding forests and mountain peaks.
While many visitors admire the tarn from nearby roads and trails, access to the water itself is limited primarily to property owners and authorized users within the Town of Blue River. This restricted access has helped preserve the tranquil atmosphere and pristine condition of the reservoir over the years.
Goose Pasture Tarn is especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset, when the alpine landscape is painted with vibrant colors and the calm water mirrors the surrounding scenery.
