For long-time Breckenridge resident Amy Evans, art is an invitation to pause. Working primarily in oils, this nationally recognized artist creates landscape paintings designed to serve as visual sanctuaries, bringing a deep sense of peace and natural connection into homes and workspaces.
Evans traces her artistic journey back to childhood, eventually earning a degree in Fine Art and spending time in fiber arts before fully returning to painting. She honed her craft studying at the Art Students League of Denver and learning from renowned instructors across the country. Today, she can frequently be found working en plein air amidst the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains, translating shifting light, weather, and color onto panel.
Far from being just a studio painter, Evans is deeply woven into the fabric of the local and national art communities. She has served on the Breckenridge Public Art Commission, taught workshops in the local arts district, and judged events like Breckenridge’s International Snow Sculpture Competition. Furthermore, she holds esteemed roles in professional organizations, including serving as past co-president and Master Signature Emeritus of Women Artists of the West.
