If you’ve visited the Village at Breckenridge recently—or have a stay planned soon—you may have noticed some exciting activity at our Peak 9 Inn (Liftside) building. We’re happy to share that construction is well underway on a major improvement project that will greatly enhance comfort, efficiency, and the overall guest experience.
One of the most eye‑catching milestones so far is the arrival of the mega crane. Towering above the building and humming with activity, it has quickly become a point of fascination for guests and staff alike. It’s not every day you get to watch a crane of this scale at work in the heart of Breckenridge, and it’s a clear sign that this project is moving full steam ahead.
What’s Happening Right Now
Construction crews have made significant progress over the past few weeks. Scaffolding is now in place on the north and east sides of the Peak 9 Inn, as well as along portions of the distinctive “horseshoe” section of the building. This access has allowed teams to move efficiently and safely as they work on exterior upgrades.
Even better news: some of the new windows are already being installed—earlier than scheduled. These high‑performance windows are one of several upgrades designed to improve insulation, ventilation, and overall comfort for our guests, no matter the season.
What We’re Building Toward
Once the project is complete, the Peak 9 Inn building will feature an entirely new exterior façade that isn’t just visually refreshed, but also smarter and more efficient. Key improvements include:
- A new, well‑insulated and properly ventilated façade
- Air conditioning vents added throughout the Peak 9 Inn building
- Improved hallway ventilation
- Brand‑new windows
- A new roof
These updates represent a major step forward in bringing the Peak 9 Inn in line with modern comfort expectations while maintaining the alpine character our guests know and love.
What Guests Can Expect During Construction
We’re committed to being transparent and helping you plan ahead if you’re staying with us during this improvement project. While work is ongoing, you may notice construction activity in and around the Peak 9 Inn building. This can include construction workers in hallways and temporary wood‑cutting stations set up indoors as crews work efficiently and safely.
Construction typically takes place between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and crews strive to minimize disruptions whenever possible. Importantly, only the Peak 9 Inn building is affected. All other buildings across our campus remain unaffected, allowing guests staying elsewhere to enjoy the Village at Breckenridge as usual.
If you are visiting this summer, ask you rental manager where you are staying as parts of the building will be open during construction.

Thank You for Your Patience
We truly appreciate our guests’ understanding as we complete these exciting upgrades. While construction can bring some short‑term inconveniences, the long‑term results will be well worth it—creating a more comfortable, energy‑efficient, and enjoyable experience for everyone who stays at Peak 9 Inn.
If you have any questions about how this project might impact your stay, our front desk team is always happy to help. And if you happen to spot the mega crane in action, feel free to pause and watch—it’s all part of the transformation.
We can’t wait to welcome you to a refreshed Peak 9 Inn very soon!
