Meet the Towel Tracker: Smarter Towels at the Leisure Center

When you arrive at the Village at Breckenridge Leisure Center and head toward the pool or hot tubs, you’ll spot two large cabinets filled with fluffy pool towels. These aren’t ordinary towel cabinets—they’re Towel Trackers, and they’re way smarter than they look.

To grab your towels, just use your room key or the Village smartphone app to open the door. Take what you need (pro tip: most guests don’t need a dozen 😄). Each towel has a tiny RFID chip hidden inside, which allows the Towel Tracker to note how many towels are checked out—and link them to your reservation.

Bringing towels back is even easier. Simply drop them into the return bin at either Towel Tracker cabinet. The system scans the towels, checks them back in, and instantly removes them from your reservation. No buttons. No hassles.

So why all the technology? Before Towel Trackers, the Village was saying goodbye to a few thousand towels every year. We also noticed a lot of enthusiastic towel collecting—far more towels than anyone could reasonably dry with. That much laundry means extra water, extra labor, and extra cost.

With Towel Trackers in place, we reduce waste, conserve water, save on labor, and help keep resort fees lower for you. Win‑win‑win.

One small but important reminder: please return pool towels directly to a Towel Tracker machine. If towels are left in your room or dropped in the garage, the system may not realize they’re back—and they could stay attached to your reservation.

Thanks for helping us keep things clean, green, and running smoothly. Enjoy your swim—and your smarter towels!
